Felt Flower Necklace

I saw this super cute and super easy necklace and just had to make one!

I was going to make the flowers out of felt myself (its super easy, I'll show you in another post sometime) however, I was at A.C. Moore and just happened upon this pre-made beauties so I figured, why not?  It saved me a little bit of time and they were cute and cheap, the whole necklace, flowers, felt and chain came to $3.01 you can't beat that!

Here are my flowers, some black felt and a chain.

I laid the chain on the felt in the shape that I wanted to be, how I wanted it to look once it was done and on my neck I guess.

and here is why, you are going to take your flowers and hot glue the bottoms of them and then stick them on the felt with the chain underneath them
then I took some scissors and cut the felt around the flowers, I cut it so that none of the felt would show over the flowers

and here is the finished product, a cute DIY flower necklace! I can't wait to wear it.

Homemade Tortilla Chips

So last night my husband was looking through some of the things that I have "pinned" on Pinterest and he decided that he was going to make the homemade tortilla chips.  Works for me, all I had to do was snap a few pics and I got myself a blog post with my husband doing all the hard work, not that it was actually very hard because these are super easy!!

take some tortilla shells, we already had these thats why they are flour but you could use corn too.  Cut them up into little triangles, whatever size you want

arrange them on a baking sheet

Spray them with some cooking oil, we used Pam and pop those bad boys in the oven for 10 mins at 350 degrees

voila you have homemade tortilla chips!! They were really good too, perfect for salsa but they were a little thick, almost like a pita bread, they would have been delish with some hummus!

Enjoy!!

Winter Candles

So, I was perusing through Pinterest as I often do, it's so addicting isn't it?  Anyway, I saw this really cute winter candle that someone made so I decided that I would make it as well! It is super easy to make and really cute, something that you can leave out all winter!!

Here is what you will need.  I used white unscented candles, but you don't have to, I'm sure you could get the same results with a colored candle, along with some epsom salt, Mod Podge, some acrylic paint and a paint brush

First you are going to tape around the candle or use an elastic as a stopping point, I used tape.  Then you are going to pick the color that you choose, I decided to go with blue but I also bought a light purple and a silver that I thought would look nice too.  Then you just paint right up to your tape.  I let this dry a little and then did a second coat.

Here are my candles all painted and dry, ready to go.
The next step I don't have any pictures for because that would have been to difficult, you paint some Mod Podge all over your candle and dump some Epsom salt over them, the salt sticks to it and looks like snow.  I used a paper plate to catch the extra Epsom salt and just dumped it straight from the bottle on to the candle and let the extra fall onto the plate (then I was able to put whatever didn't stick back in the bottle)

Here is the finished product, isn't it so cute?!  I already had a snowflake that I got at the dollar store and all I did was stick it on with some double sided tape! These are just so darn cute, I love them!
If you make these then leave me a comment, I would love to hear how it went for you, or better yet, leave me a picture I would love to see yours!

Well Hello!

4 Months ago I became a mommy, to the sweetest most perfect baby boy any girl could wish for!  He is my world! My husband and I decided that I would stay home with him, at least for now.  So what else do you do when you're staying home all day, in between spending every moment with my baby? yup, start another blog! yes I said "another" blog, thats right, I have three others going.  I'm not great at keeping them up so lets hope that this one is a little better.  I know it will be because I will be posting about the different crafts and things that I will be making, and I don't want to let you all down! (I say "you all" like people are actually reading this, haha probably just spambots, oh well!!) I hope you enjoy!!
